Robert moved to North Carolina in 1984 after serving in the military at Ft. Bragg as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He fell in love with the weather, scenic beauty and wildlife of this state. Robert started enjoying photography as a hobby in 2011 and after retiring in 2017 from Vidant Medical Center as a nurse he started concentrating on his photographic skills. Robert has won several local and statewide photographic contests and has had his photographs published in North Carolina Wildlife magazine. Robert has gathered a large following on Facebook due to his love for photographing the Eastern Black Bears of the Pocossin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and his photographs can be seen in Carolina Wildlife and North Carolina Nature Lovers.
